In 1971, after we had done our first Grateful Dead tee-shirts for the tour, the wife of the drummer of Grateful Dead, Susila Kreutzmann, came in and asked us to do something for the Allman Brothers tour, who were good friends of hers.

Susila and Barry worked on the design, which had marijuana leaves, and was the first peace ‘reath that was done. The Allman Brothers loved it. When the Grateful Dead saw Barry’s new design, they loved it so much that we used it for several of the Grateful Dead designs. The peace ‘reath is iconic. PEACE TO ALL!
